We stayed in a clean, nicely furnished apartment with air conditioning near a new, elegant part of the Porto and close to the Teatro Massimo area with lots of nice restaurants within a 15-minute walk. We could also easily walk to Quattro Canti, the Cathedral, and local markets, and the owner was always available and helpful.
